What a week.... It seemed really long to me, what about you? Well , yesterday I volunteered at the local elementary school and did face painting with some other girls for the Nat. Art Honor Soc.! It was actually really fun, but a little hectic to. Just picture a big group of little kids, all lined up to get something painted on their cheek or hand. The paint wasn't the best quality and the brushes were watercolor brushes, so they didn't work out very well, but i still enjoyed it. I hope i get to do it again, maybe next year :)

Today was supposed to be my day off from school, but I had to go in for the first meeting of the National Art Honor Society. It was actually pretty cool! I'm the Secretary and Treasurer of the club, which is something I've never done before. I'm usually just the quiet one who sits back and lets everyone else take charge, but I'm very proud of myself because I volunteered to take the position! Yay me ^_^
I'm sooo not ready to go back to school again. It was really nice to have a 3 1/2 day weekend. I wish it was always that way.
I also recently discovered a really cool mp3 player that might be on my xmas list. Its the Olympus m:robe 500i and its a 20GB mp3 player with a built in digital camera. How cool is that?! It has a 3.7 inch touch screen display. it definately beats the iPod. No doubt. Besides, the only reason people have ipods is for the status. Its almost like a popularity thing. "Your not cool unless you have your iPod" This takes the cake. ***** 5 stars!

Hi everyone! Well, Thursday has finally arrived and it turned out to be a nice day. Not only did I miss my Algebra 2 class, but we had our school pep rally today. I never used to be into these things but I guess I've changed. I loved it! The excitement, cheering on your friends and fellow classmates.... I only get to enjoy it for this year and next, and then I'll be out of school. When I was a freshman and a sophomore, I felt stupid dressing up and being at the assembly, but now i don't care how ridiculous i look, cause you only get to be in high school once (or should i say 4 years).
The seniors won the competition as usual, but juniors placed 3rd!!!! Sophmores got 2nd.....i have a few choice words i could say about a few of them, but i'll just keep those to myself.
Anyway, enjoy your weekend everyone!

Another thursday has come and gone uneventfully. The life a highschool student should usely be more exciting than this.... Next week is our school spirit week! Although i'm not a big school spirit participant, i'll do my best since im a junior this year. When your a freshman or a sophmore, you just feel stupid for doing it. This year our theme is "Life's a Beach." Monday we'll be dressing up in our beach attire, tuesday is "wear your floaties day". Who ever thought that one up must have been on something. Wednesday is hawaiin wear day, and thursday is school colors. friday we're off, thank god. We'll see what happens, maybe the juniors will beat the seniors.... sure....

I have good news everyone! I get my laptop back today! (hopefully) Let me tell you, being with out a computer is horrible. Not only was I bored out of my mind, but within the time it was being fixed I had a project that would have been a lot easier to do had i had my laptop. If anyone has turned their PC in to get fixed, you know my pain... :P
So has anyone picked up the new female manga magazine Shojo Beat? It has a few good ones: absolute boyfriend and Nana...... but other than that.......... not much ! The articles are nice, giving you a small glimpse into the fast paced life of a teenage japanese girl. It includes the latest fashion from japan and great artists to check out. Its a personal fav and a good alternative if you don't want to pay $12.95 for NewType USA. The price was around 5.95 when i picked up the first issue but it might have changed since then. I recommend this one with **** stars :D

My first day of school is over with. I can't say that it was great. I'm not completely happy with my schedule, but i'll just have to get over it. I think my least favorite class is enviormental earth science. I don't know anyone in there! It's filled with seniors, who are obnoxious and and loud, the total opposite of me. We'll see how this works out.
Thursday the whole school is supposed to be practicing the evacuation plan. I just hope its not hot, i hate it. We have to walk to a bar and then back. That's supposed to be safe......

I finally finished the book i've been reading! It's called "The Four Sisters of Hofei." The book tells about the lives of four sisters growing up together and apart in the troubled times of China. Chao-ho, Yun-ho,Chung-ho, and Yuan-ho each tell the story of their life. It is rich and full of history, and you can get a real feeling of what it was like to live back in those times. I recommend this book to someone who wants to take the time to learn about the chinese culture. As far as I know, all of the sisters are still alive, but this book came out in 2003 , so I'm not fully sure.

Only one more day left of summer vacation! This week has gone by so fast....sigh -_-
Later tonight I'll be back at school, showing my brother around. Hopefully he won't be as lost as I was when I started high school.
Has anyone else played the playstation game called Point Blank? I'm terrible at that game! Its so hard for me shot the targets because i can't aim fast enough. So frustrating!

Well, another weekend has come and go. Tomorrow I'll be getting up at 7:00. I've got to get used to waking up early again. I'm not looking forward to getting up at 6:20 on Friday..... I also found out that I'll be getting on the bus with the worst driver I've ever had. He's an a**hole. Have you ever been on a school bus with obnoxious, rude, loud, ignorant people? Well this is what I will be putting up with. I can't wait until I can drive to school. My moms trying to put that off for as long as she can though.....My permit expires in October!

I just finished watching Moniques F.A.T chance. I enjoyed it, because it proves that woman with alittle extra are just as beautiful as girls that are a size 2.

Yet another borning saturday. I have this feeling that no one has even seen my blog :( oh well.....
Today I will probably sit around and do nothing. I haven't heard anything from my pen pals lately... i wonder what they are up to. I have one in japan and one in croatia. Actually, my friend in japan is living in new zealand for a few years with a host family. They are both so nice! I must be lucky ^_^ If you want a penpal, try www.penpal.net . I just got finished watching the movie "The Glass House." It was actually pretty good! Has anyone seen the movie "Swimfan?" I saw it when it was out in theaters a few years ago and i've never heard any mention of it since. It was a pretty creepy movie.....

Up top is a picture of my favorite anime series, Full Metal Panic! Believe it or not I have never seen an episode of the show, but I have read some of the manga and was instantly pulled in. I don't exactly have the money to put out for the DVDs ... One day I'll see an episode! One day!

:( Summer flys by so fast! Today I sent in an application to a day care center. If they hire me, this will be my first job! I really don't want to be stuck as a grocery bagger, which is what my mom wants me to do. Cross your fingers for me!

Hi! It’s me again . Right now I’m in the car on my way back home. Obviously I’m not driving, so don’t be worried :P
I got this spiffy new lap top for my birthday, which was in June. Just so you know, I’m sixteen and once school starts up in about 10 days, I will be a junior in high school. In about 2 weeks I’ll be taking this thing back to the store for repairs. I have a bunch of small white dots and dust on the inside of my screen, and I want to know why! My dad paid enough for this thing , so they better fix it -_- If anyone knows what’s wrong, please tell me! It’s a Toshiba Tablet PC (R-15)
For anyone who is interested, I recently went to the Asian art museums down in Washington D.C. The Freer and Sackler Galleries are home to some extensive collections of art from the east. My favorite exhibits are the Japanese screens, which are amazingly detailed. If you ever get the chance to go there, I high recommend checking them out.
Okay, time for my first review!
This time, I will be reviewing a few songs from the Japanese artist Shimokawa Mikuni. Mikuni has done most of the songs for the wonderful anime series Full Metal Panic. She has a very sweet , cute voice, and the songs she creates are beautiful.
Kimi ni fuku kaze: This is a very happy, cute song. Its upbeat and suit’s the series perfectly. If you like the sugar sweet pop songs, this one is a must. I love it and it is highly recommended
Tomorrow: This song isn’t as upbeat as the first one, but its still enjoyable to listen to. The song lets you relax and suits Full Metal Panic perfectly. Still Pop.
Kimi no Yume: The song has a sad sound to it. It’s a slow song, but her singing is beautiful in it. I’m not sure what the lyrics translate into, but it reminds me of a love song.
Those are just three of her songs, and if you ever get the chance to download them, please do. I can give you a few websites that you might be able to find them. You wouldn’t believe how hard it is to find certain anime mp3s. Hope I recommended some good songs !

Hi! I would first like to say thank you for coming to my page. I have no idea how you found it, but I’m glad you did J
My name is Bev and I’ll be on here as often as possible, so new things should be on here regularly, I have PLEANTY to talk about, so I can pretty much guarantee that you won’t be bored. I plan to review on various books, music, anime series, and just get some things off of my chest. I’m very interested in the Asian culture and that’s mostly what I will include in my reviews. My ever-growing book collection is dying to be be exposed so that others can enjoy too. I also love Japanese music, and I’m sure I could help get some people interested if you are willing to try it.
